When people start prepping, they think food first. Food matters, but the things that make a hard week miserable are usually the small stuff: no light, no way to flush the toilet, no clean hands, no way to charge a phone.
So I built a list that does the math for you. Tell it how many adults, kids, babies and pets you have, and how long you're planning for, and it tells you how much of everything you need: water, toilet paper, trash bags, batteries, wipes, diapers, pet food and more.
Start with these five
- A light for every person, kept by the bed.
- Heavy trash bags and kitty litter for a backup toilet.
- Wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
- A charged power bank for every phone.
- A battery carbon monoxide detector, if you'll use any heater or generator.
Make your list on the Stockpile list page, and check things off as you go.
